Do You Know My Friends The Swartwoods?

Without a doubt we had a blast with the Swartwoods. It was good to be not only with familiar people, but also people that are a load of fun! Sarah and I more than once stayed up WAY past a reasonable hour, chatting away trying to catch up. And turns out Sarah is not a morning person, ohhh no no no, definitely not. Lol, made for some entertaining mornings.

Crumpets...or sorry, strumpets (as they are called in the Swartwood home) became a theme for the weekend. Kevin got Jay hooked and within a few days they ate a numerous amount...enormous amount. It was also the first thing we bought when we got back to Glasgow.
Kevin and Jay were thrilled to find a pack of crumpets...excuse me strumpets, for 49p, we bought some for 84p (from Waitrose), value vs quality could only be determined by a taste testing.

Turns out we used the wrong crumpets entirely, they taste tested between two 'cheaper' versions and Waitrose wasn't part of the taste test. Still was entertaining feeding two blind folded men strumpets and creme.

The boys were die-hard fish and chips fans (Lee's fish and chips is conveniently within eyesight of their front windows). So on another night of fish and chips Sarah and I decided to do up a gourmet meal for ourselves. Sarahs award winning risotto was the central item on our menu. And it was DELISH! I have only attempted risotto a couple of times and will cook it much more. Within reason though, cause you don't want to know how much butter we put in this thing... nuh uh definitely not. As the boys had their beers and fish and chips outside, we lounged inside with wine and a meal worthy of High Street.

The finished product...

The boys doing dishes...well Jay was, Kevin was eating....drum roll please.... strumpets. Surprise. (Just a note Kevin did do dishes on the weekend too).

On a beautiful, gorgeous, stunning English day, we got up and out the door for a 1pm breakfast (you know it s a holiday when breakfast happens during the later lunch hours). Jay found a fab cafe right at the top of Gold Hill where we enjoyed our breakfast and lattes overlooking the Sunny English Country side. Perfect.
Two gorgeous people. Inside and out:)

The rest of the day was spent in Bath (Sarah found a chic little sweater dress that looks stellar). Jay and I toured the famous Roman baths, I had been there before and never did it, so glad we did. The history is fascinating.

After getting back we chilled out and stayed up late chatting, well Sarah and I did...

On our first day there Sarah took us around (Kevin was working), it was a cozy, misty day in Shaftsbury...

Tired of following two girls around town maybe?

The Leaves stuck to our wellies...kind of like those styrofoam popcorn things that stick to you no matter what you try to do to get them off.

Fingers crossed and we will see Kevin and Sarah for Christmas!! We loved being in England and spending time with the Swartwoods....they say hi to everyone:)
