Did we ever relax in Sweden! Marta is an amazing hostess (and cook by the way). Marta and I daily had what we call 'licorice belly' - too much licorice on an empty stomach - and than you eat food, and it creates licorice belly! Yet - it was worth it. We have both agreed we have to hold off on the licorice for a bit - oh and the chocolate:)
Sweden was gorgeous! We had wonderful weather the whole time, one rainy afternoon to relax inside and watch movies - oh and our last day was very windy - Marta and I had a hard time walking straight, still gorgeous though.
Malmo train station, there are scrolling images reminiscent of looking out train windows. There is enough footage that you will never see the same image even if you ride the train everyday.
One of the docks, LOVE them, kind of looks surreal. Being in Malmo made me REALLY want to live near the ocean. Oceanfront preferably.

Oceanfront preferably.Jayson had a 'man's cold' the one day - so we gave him a good steam. There is a popular Swedish cold medicine commercial: a Swedish man in a similar situation that is quite humorous, the man in the commercial is quoted as saying "you women say childbirth is so hard, try a real man's cold". Simply stated - men are a little bit like babies when it comes to a cold.
Sunday was one of our favorite days, we went to Lund for church and than headed to the countryside for a long leisurely lunch at Castle grounds. Followed by a spontaneous visit to the Pastors country home - we fell in love! It was stunning. Nice to get out of the city as well and breath some fresh air. We were able to meet David, we had SO much fun with him, and he was honestly a God send. After 4 days with just Marta and I, Jay was about to have a nervous breakdown. He needed guy time. BADLY.
Just a little sunny.
Photo time.
Oh sigh.
High Fashion model poses. Jayson just struts it. Marta flaunts it and....I think David is doing blue steel...
It was a fairytale.
And no, we didn't just have a healthy loaf of bread. We did a sweet cinnamon pastry loaded with icing.

It was a fairytale.Oh and we cannot forget the poker night we had. Unfortunately we did not have poker chips - so we improvised...
Bracelets were $5, earrings $2 and pens $1...the spoon was a ten. The boys would always bet by saying the value of the 'chip', Marta had I always had to clarify whether that was an earring or a bracelet. Girliest Poker game ever. I liked it.

Being with Marta was a blast, we picked up a few habits from her: we now HAVE to use swedish butter spreaders...and we now cut our ice cream carton in half and enjoy...

Long story.

It was a little sunny at the lunch table...Jayson's suggestion was sunglasses. It worked. Aaaand we looked cool.
Not a great photo of any of us... but it was worth the laugh:)
We also had the privilege of meeting up with my dear roommate from SOM days, Maria Lyndkilde, in Copenhagen. And yes we hit a danish bakery.

Though I have to say my most favorite moment had to be tucked away in a tea shop as it rained one afternoon, sharing our hearts over delicious pastries and tea. (The decor was also french chic....and we matched the wallpaper).
This one was a little less 'vampire-ish'. I am apparently quite pale...and with the dark hair. Scary.

And we will see Marta again soon:)
